About

Hi, my name is Vincent Booman. People mostly recognize me by my purple hair or black fedora hat.

As a Game Developer, I'm always looking for ways I can use my code to improve lives and make an impact. Whether that's my own life, by building an annoying alarm clock that won't go off until I get out of bed and open the bedroom door, my friend's life, by building an app to remind her of good times when things look bleak, young children in the hospital with the beautiful Serious Games we built at Monkeybizniz, or my students at the HKU, by building a platform they can use to easily share their projects with fellow and future students.

I am always interested in exploring and learning new technologies and skills, which is why I was very happy to build our own in-house multi-platform Game Engine in C++ at Monkeybizniz, use Xamarin to build a mobile location-based poetry platform, use React to build a web app for 'de Cultuurfabriek' in Veenendaal, and why I'm now exploring Unreal Engine 5, to see what beautiful experiences that will allow me to create.

For me, development is not about a specific language or software, it's about what kind of impact they enable.

Work Experience

V++ (2016 - Current)

As a freelancer under the name of V++, I work on both game and non-game projects. I've released a small game called Fnakball in collaboration with indie studio Knuist & Perzik, built a collection of location-based poetry apps with Stiching Interactive Culture, and built a web app for De Cultuurfabriek in Veenendaal.
